Reading Fun and Sun with LINC NYC
This summer, I was a Guest Reader at the LINC NYC Reading Everywhere Month Fair in Hunts Point, Bronx. LINC NYC provides rental assistance for low-income families and those living in shelters. Today's program was a fun way for children and their families to get outside in the beautiful sunshine and enjoy a day of literacy during the summer.
The theme for this year's Reading Everywhere Month Fair was "LINCing a Better World."
It was a wonderful afternoon; I had the chance to meet many new friends below the age of ten, and I had the chance to share my books with an eager new audience. The children’s smiles were infectious, and I can’t wait until next summer to take part in another LINC NYC summer reading fair!
