Proud to be a Hero
I have never considered myself a hero, but a local school in my community certainly does! Salem Elementary School recently hosted its Family Literacy Night. The theme for the night was “Every Hero Has a Story.” As part of the event, local heroes were invited to the school to meet with the children and share their stories of heroism. I was asked to attend and share my story! I had so much fun meeting the children in the school and reading my books to the entire third grade. The best part of the evening was realizing that the Salem Elementary School students really thought I was a hero! Hearing all the accolades from the children and their parents made me realize that I was making a difference.
