I'm the Rising Star
Yesterday was the biggest moment of my life. The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America honored me as this year’s Rising Star because of my book, A Weasel on an Easel! It was a wonderful afternoon at the famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City. I signed books to raise money for the CCFA, and ate lunch with my family while we enjoyed my first ever fashion show! After the fashion show was my big moment! I gave a speech about my cousin, Casey, who is the inspiration for my book. I was so nervous as I walked up to the podium and looked at the crowd of faces staring back at me. I took a deep breath and gave my speech. Thankfully, I didn’t make any mistakes or fall off the stage. Afterwards, I was told that there were over 1,000 people in attendance! Most importantly, I am honored to be this year's CCFA Rising Star with my cousin, Casey, as we look towards finding a cure for Crohn's disease and colitis
